How to redeem Roblox codes and why free Robux is a scam

Three types of codes, two different places

The most common reason a code "doesn't work" is entering it in the wrong place. There are three types of codes on Roblox:

Roblox promo code: a freebie from an event or giveaway run by Roblox itself, almost always an avatar item. Redeem it at roblox.com/redeem.

Gift cards and toy codes: bought with real money, they give Roblox Credit, Robux, or a virtual item. These are also redeemed at roblox.com/redeem.

Game (experience) code: gives rewards inside a game, like spins in Anime Dice or 2x EXP in Blox Fruits. It only works inside that game, on the codes screen the studio created.

Roblox promo codes: how to redeem

According to the Roblox Help Center, promo codes come from events and giveaways run by Roblox itself and can expire quickly. Official promotions are announced on the Roblox blog, in your account's notifications tab, or in a banner at the top of the site.

The old address, roblox.com/promocodes, takes you to the same page as gift cards: roblox.com/redeem.

When we checked on September 28, 2026, we found no Roblox promo codes announced through official channels. The lists going around repeat old codes, with no official announcement in effect.

1. Open your browser and go to roblox.com/redeemOn your phone too: use Chrome or Safari. The regular Roblox app and consoles don't have a redeem screen. Only the app for Samsung Galaxy phones does.
2. Log in to the right accountThe reward goes to whichever account is logged in. Only type your password on Roblox's official login page.
3. Enter the code in the boxIt's the only box on the page. Copy and paste so you don't get a single letter wrong.
4. Tap RedeemA confirmation message appears, and the item goes to your inventory.

Gift cards: what's different

Gift cards are bought with real money, in stores or online, and go on the same page: roblox.com/redeem. Depending on the card, the value is added as Roblox Credit or directly as Robux. You can convert Roblox Credit to Robux right on the redeem page, and only in a browser.

A card bought in another country works too: Roblox says all of its codes work worldwide and converts the value to your account's currency.

If you get an error, check for letters and numbers that look alike. Roblox itself suggests trying these swaps: 0 (zero) for O, 1 for a capital I, 2 for Z, 5 for S, 6 for G or Q, and 8 for B.

Roblox's terms don't provide for gift card refunds. Only buy from well-known stores: a code sold by a stranger may already have been used on another account.

Game codes: each experience has its own button

Codes for Roblox games are created by the studios, not by Roblox. That's why typing them on roblox.com/redeem won't work: each game has its own redeem screen, and where it is varies from game to game.

Roblox's rules for studios only allow codes whose rewards are valid inside that game and have no Robux value. Studios also have to publish their codes openly, such as on the game's page or on social media.

Many games require something before you can redeem: finishing the tutorial, reaching a minimum level, picking a faction, or joining the studio's group on Roblox. Here's where the button is in three games:

1. Blox FruitsPick Pirates or Marines first. Then open the menu on the left side of the screen and tap "Redeem DLC Code."
2. RIVALSFinish the tutorial. Then tap the + button at the top of the screen, next to your Keys, and open "Codes."
3. Anime DiceTap "Shop" on the left and scroll to the bottom of the shop. Enter the code in the "Enter Code" box and confirm with the green "Redeem" button.

Why the code didn't work

Before you give up, check the reasons below. If none of them explains it, the code has probably run out. On our codes pages, tap "didn't work": the votes help us quickly pull codes that have stopped working.

• It expired. Promo and game codes have a deadline, and some run out after a set number of redemptions.
• You already used it. Each code usually works once per account. Roblox says so about virtual item codes, and games follow the same rule.
• Wrong place. Game codes don't work on roblox.com/redeem, and Roblox codes don't work inside games.
• You typed it differently. Many games are case-sensitive: copy and paste instead of typing.
• You're missing a game requirement: the tutorial, a minimum level, a chosen faction, or joining the studio's group.
• Old server. A brand-new code can fail on a server still running the previous version of the game. Leave and rejoin.
• Wrong account. The reward goes to the account that's logged in. If you have more than one account, you may have redeemed it on the other one.
• Your country is almost never the problem: Roblox says its codes work worldwide. In games, what usually blocks you is your account's progress in the game, like your level.

Free Robux doesn't exist

The Roblox Help Center is clear: there are no free Robux, memberships, codes, or tricks, and there's no such thing as a Robux generator. Any offer like that is a scam to get your account, your Robux, and your items.

Robux only reach your account through purchases (in the app, on the website, or with a gift card) or as creator earnings, from selling items or from experiences. No game code gives Robux, because Roblox's rules for studios prohibit code rewards with Robux value.

Signs it's a scam:

• It promises Robux in exchange for your login, an app download, or a "human verification."
• A login page that isn't on roblox.com. Only type your password on Roblox's official page.
• It asks for your password, your 2-Step Verification code, backup codes, or your browser cookies. Roblox warns that its employees never ask for these.
• It offers a "trick" or "hack" that only works if you hand over your account details.
• It advertises an "official" promotion that doesn't appear on the Roblox blog, in your account notifications, or in the site banner.

Spotted a scam? Report it

Use the Report Abuse button, found in the Roblox apps and in the menu of every experience. Roblox moderators take action against people who try to steal accounts.
