Hoparade Guide: Tips, Worlds, Freeze & Farm

Hoparade guide: controls, rescuing pets, Freeze, the 5 worlds and the farm. Practical tips to go farther and keep your parade safe.

This guide covers what really exists in Hoparade, the Lipy Games game where Hoppy the bunny crosses roads, tracks and rivers with a line of pets behind him.

Here you will find the controls, the right way to use the van and Freeze, the rules of each biome and the farm math. Everything was checked in the game itself.

How to play Hoparade: the basics and controls

Each hop takes Hoppy one tile. You move forward row by row, and the camera follows diagonally. The more new rows you reach, the more points you score.

Lost pets show up along the way. When you touch them, they join your parade and start following Hoppy. The parade gives extra points, but it is also your biggest risk.

If Hoppy stands still for too long, he is in danger. After about 3 seconds without hopping, a storm warning appears. At 6.5 seconds, the storm hits Hoppy. Any hop, even backward, resets that count.

On a computer, use the arrow keys or the W, A, S and D keys. On mobile, swipe in the direction of the hop or tap the screen to go forward.

  • Arrow keys or W A S D: hop in four directions.
  • Shift or E: use Freeze, when the bar is full.
  • Hold Q or the right mouse button: tuck your parade into the backpack.
  • Mobile: swipe to hop and tap the on-screen buttons.
  • Farm: dragging moves the camera and tapping uses the tool.

How to rescue pets and build your parade

The game has 17 species in the run: fox, pig, penguin, dog, chick, cat, panda, koala, deer, monkey, tiger, beaver, caterpillar, crab, parrot, bee and polar bear.

Each world draws its own. The Sunny Meadow has fox, pig, penguin and others. The Misty Swamp offers beaver, caterpillar, chick and pig.

When a car or a hazard hits a pet in your parade, it does not die. It gets dizzy, with stars, and lands on a nearby tile. A Rescue! sign appears over its head.

You have 5 seconds to touch it again. If you make it, it returns to the end of the parade and earns a small bonus. If not, it runs off and stays lost for that run.

Losing a pet costs you. The parade loses its multiplier and the Freeze bar drops by one point. The run summary shows who was lost.

  • Multiplier: goes from x1 to x4, depending on how many unhurt pets are in the parade.
  • One hit on the parade resets the multiplier.
  • Dizzy pet: go back and touch it before the 5 seconds are up.

How to use the rescue van and Freeze

The rescue van is a rare vehicle in traffic. Touching it does not hurt Hoppy. It takes up to 2 pets from your parade per visit.

Each pet delivered earns 10 points and goes to live on the farm. The van also resets pet shields, so spend your shields first or deliver carefully.

Arrows at the edge of the screen show the van approaching and lost pets out of view. Keep an eye on those arrows.

Each pet delivered fills the Freeze bar. The bar is full after 3 deliveries. Press Shift or E to activate it.

Freeze lasts 4 seconds. Traffic slows way down, to about a quarter of its speed. Hoppy keeps moving at normal speed.

  • Save Freeze for the train, the expressway or a tough river.
  • Use Freeze when your parade is big and the lane is crowded.
  • Don't waste Freeze: it only fills up again with new deliveries.

Shields, backpack and hearts: how to protect your parade

The pet shield is a pink carrier box with a heart. Each shield absorbs one hit on a pet. The limit is 3 shields, and the scoreboard shows the count.

When a shield pops, a cage appears around the pet and breaks. The pet stays in the parade without getting dizzy.

The backpack is an item on the map. Each one fills the backpack bar by 34%. Hold Q, the right mouse button or the on-screen button to tuck your parade in.

With the pets in the backpack, no hazard can hit them. The bar empties in 4 seconds. When you let go, each pet returns to its spot in the parade, if it is safe.

The heart protects Hoppy himself from one hit. You can hold up to 3. They come from the ad truck, which is always optional.

  • Full backpack on the track: tuck your parade in before crossing the road.
  • The van works even with the pets in the backpack.
  • Declining the ad truck costs you nothing.

How to get past the hazards in all 5 worlds

The worlds come in a cycle: Sunny Meadow, Wild Forest, Misty Swamp, Sunny Beach and Windy Cliffs. After the Windy Cliffs, the cycle goes back to the Sunny Meadow. Each golden gate on the ground is a checkpoint.

Each world has its own warning. Learning the warning is worth more than rushing.

In the Sunny Meadow, traffic runs in lanes, with slow and fast cars. The train turns on a light and rings a bell about 1 second before it passes. After a stretch, the expressway appears, with very fast cars.

In the Wild Forest, herds cross the trails. Sometimes an animal sleeps in the middle of the trail and becomes an obstacle, but it does not hurt you. It wakes up on its own after a few seconds.

Some animals change lanes. Before they do, an orange arrow appears on the ground of the destination lane. At certain moments there is also a stampede, with dust and shaking beforehand.

How to beat the Misty Swamp, the Sunny Beach and the Windy Cliffs

In the Misty Swamp, some logs are crocodiles. They are a greener shade, with little eyes and nostrils at one end and bubbles now and then. Stepping on one gets Hoppy bitten. Hop onto another log.

Lily pads sink slowly with Hoppy on top. In about 2 seconds, he falls into the water. Don't stop on them. Mud makes your hop 45% slower, so plan ahead before you enter it.

On the Sunny Beach, a shadow grows on the sand or in the sea, and a fish leaps in an arc. Leave the tile as soon as the shadow appears. Crabs change lanes often, so watch the arrows.

On the Windy Cliffs, the plank bridge gets gusts. Wind streaks and a whistle warn you for less than 1 second, and then Hoppy is pushed one tile sideways. Birds dive in with a growing shadow, like the fish.

Each world has its own rescue vehicle: the forest cart, the swamp airboat, the beach lifeboat and the cliffs balloon. They follow the same rule as the van.

How the Hoparade farm works

The pets you deliver to the van move to the farm. You get in through a FARM button on the home screen or the end-of-run screen. The first pet is Daisy the cow.

The toolbar sits at the bottom: Hand, Hoe, Seeds, Water, Sickle, Feed, Brush, Medicine and Axe. Tap the right plot to act on it. Dragging away from a target moves the camera.

The routine is simple: hoe, seed, water and sickle. Watering is optional, but it speeds up growth by 25%. After you harvest, the plot is ready to plant again.

The watering can has charges: 5 at the start, and it refills 1 every 20 seconds. The well refills everything instantly. Rain also waters the plots for free. It falls on 22% of days, starting from the third.

Customers come to the stall with an order and a patience bar. Serving them fast earns a tip. If the patience runs out, the customer leaves and your reputation drops a little.

Farm animals: what each one produces

Each species has a home, a product and a favorite food. Give fodder or the favorite food once a day, and brush once a day. A well-cared-for pet produces the next day.

With 3 or more hearts of affection, there is a chance of a golden product, which is worth 3 times as much. The chance rises with each extra heart and also with an upgraded home.

Watch out for neglect. One day without food makes a pet sad. On the second day it gets sick and needs medicine. On the third it leaves, and the species comes back as NEW! in a run.

When you leave the farm, neglect stops at sad. It only gets worse while you are there and after the warnings.

Best upgrades and tips to get further

Tools level up from copper to silver and gold. Each upgrade costs coins and gears: 150 coins and 1 gear, 600 and 3, and 2,000 and 6. At high levels, tools cover a larger area, and the watering can holds up to 20 charges.

In the shop, before a run, you can buy 3 shields for 60 coins, a full backpack for 50 and an extra heart for 90. If you struggle early on, the heart and the shields help the most.

On the farm, start with the carrot, which grows in 30 seconds, and with the cow. Then buy the chick, cow, pig and bee, depending on your farm level. The caterpillar, parrot and crab require you to rescue one of them in a run first.

These in-run tips will save you a lot of attempts:

  • Do not leave pets behind: every pet you skip slows Hoppy down, up to four levels.
  • Look both ways along the road before you hop, because traffic comes from both sides.
  • Take your time with the ad truck: it offers a heart, coins, seeds or a new pet.
  • Look for the gap between sleeping animals, because they block the way.
  • Tuck your parade into the backpack before a busy road, then let them out afterwards.
  • If a pet gets dizzy, go back and pick it up again within 5 seconds.
